Liberation Campaigns The Students' Union at UWE Liberation campaigns support and fight for the rights of BAME, Disabled, LGBT+, Trans, and Women students.

Liberation is important to NUS because our identities affect our participation, achievement, and progression in education. The Global Majority Campaign was created by the Students Union at UWE SU President Zain Choudhry & VP Societies & Communications Bahkai Wynter. It aims to create a platform to give voice to Students of Colour on campus or students usually known as Black Minority Ethnic (BME).

People of Colour make up the Global Majority of the world population ( we are the 85%) and therefore we are using this term to reclaim the narrative around being seen as minorities. The campaign is student led involving students from the Islamic, Nigerian, Afro-Caribbean, Somali & Mandemhood Societies & we hope will include more into the future. So far the Global Majority Campaign are organising workshops, panel discussions and events about topics that showcase & celebrate UWE's Global Majority students & the issues that are important to them.
