Last night, Corinthian Centenary Lodge — the home of membership in Essex — held its installation meeting, where W.Bro. Ray Quiddington was installed as Worshipful Master. With Ray’s long and respected Masonic career, it was no surprise to see the temple packed out.

Those who attended were treated to some fantastic ritual, with standout moments including Bro. Ray Hart’s delivery of the First Degree working tools. It was especially good to see Bro. Hart, one of the lodge’s strong line of organic members, playing such an important part — a great sign that the lodge is looking very healthy for the future.

The evening ended with a brilliant festive board at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club. The views were stunning, the food was excellent, and the company even better.

Before the main meeting, the Essex Membership Team held a session where W.Bro. Paul Morgan gave an excellent presentation outlining the future of membership in the Province.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Freemasonry is the opportunity to visit other lodges and last night, 5 members of Corinthian Centenary Lodge No.8488 had the pleasure of visiting Lodge of St. Peter No. 1024 in Maldon.

It was an evening filled with camaraderie, tradition, and warmth. They were honored to witness a beautifully performed 2nd Degree by the Worshipful Master and his officers of the lodge.

W.Bro. Nigel Farmer took them on an enlightening journey through the 2nd degree tracing board. His eloquence and passion were evident as he shared its symbolism and teachings. And let me tell you, it was displayed on the largest tracing board they’ve ever seen!

The evening culminated with an excellent festive board. They left full of gratitude and look forward to many more Masonic visits.

Attendees of the annual dinner of the Essex Cornerstone Club aboard the HMS Belfast, including members from the Corinthian Centenary Lodge No.8488, enjoyed a truly memorable evening filled with camaraderie and celebration.

Despite the typical British weather, spirits remained high as the evening began with a convivial gathering at the Horniman at Hays pub. Surrounded by like-minded individuals the atmosphere was electric with anticipation.

Boarding the Belfast, attendees were treated to welcome drinks and joined by esteemed guests such as Club Chairman W.Bro. Bernie Smith and club patron the Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro. Paul Tarrant, and the opportunity to explore the ship’s fascinating museum and gangways.

The sense of history and camaraderie continued into dinner, which was served in one of the ship’s mess halls. The feast that followed was nothing short of spectacular, with a diverse array of culinary delights to satisfy every palate. As glasses clinked and toasts were made, speeches from distinguished speakers only added to the sense of occasion. Laughter filled the air, mingling with the echoes of shared stories and cherished memories.

What an evening we had at Corinthian Centenary Lodge No.8488 last week!

As the Home of membership in Essex, we kicked off with an enlightening training session led by W.Bro Jeff Palmer and the provincial membership team. Attended by GMOs (Group Membership Officers) and LMOs (Lodge Membership Officers), they left equipped with invaluable insights on enhancing the members' pathway and supporting their lodges.

The highlight of the evening was witnessing the impeccable installation of W.Bro. Terry Genes, with a nod of appreciation to IPM W.Bro David Howes for his exceptional role.

Post-ritual, as the sun was setting, the camaraderie flowed as smoothly as the River Crouch at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, where brethren basked in laughter, shared stories, and toasted to the occasion with a few refreshing drinks.

And let's not forget the delectable feast that followed.

But the icing on the cake? Congratulations to W.Bro Ray Quidington & W.Bro Keith Johnson on their well-deserved Grand Rank promotions!

Here's to many more memorable moments ahead!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Happy St. George’s Day to all our brethren and friends! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Today, we celebrate the legendary courage and chivalry of St. George, the patron saint of England. As Masons, we reflect on his virtues of bravery, integrity, and service to others, values that resonate deeply within our fraternity.

May this day inspire us to uphold these noble principles and continue our journey in Freemasonry with renewed dedication and purpose.

Wishing everyone a meaningful and joyful St. George’s Day!

Visit to Corinthian Centenary Lodge No.8488 Burnham-on-crouch dining at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, they managed to raise £1000. The money to buy a defibrillator for the Burnham bowls club. One of the best dining venues with a young chef who has made his name in London and was very evident in the festive board. The most welcoming lodge, looking forward to going to the next meeting.
