Sit in Silence

Performed by A Level Year 1 Dancers
Choreographed by Sammy Allen and Dancers

Set to Car Radio by Twenty One Pilots, this piece delves into themes of isolation, control, and inner conflict. Drawing on the raw, grounded movement style of Hofesh Shechter, the dancers use driving rhythm, unison, and intensity to reflect the relentless nature of the mind.
Authentic British Sign Language is woven throughout, amplifying the voice of the piece and making internal struggle visible. The result is a bold and uncompromising performance that combines physical power with striking emotional clarity.

Split State

Performed and Choreographed by Ruby Gill

This solo explores the contrasting temperaments of sanguine and choleric, embodied through house and street dance styles. The light, playful, and expressive nature of the sanguine is reflected in the fluidity and groove of house, while the bold, assertive, and high-energy qualities of the choleric are conveyed through the sharpness and power of street dance. Through shifts in dynamics, musicality, and interaction, the choreography reveals both the contrast and connection between these styles and temperaments, demonstrating how difference can generate both tension and cohesion within performance.
