What an intensive and rewarding two days!

We have just completed our first Equine RCVS Statutory Membership OSCE Preparation Course, supporting veterinary surgeons who qualified overseas as they prepare for the equine component of the RCVS Statutory Membership Examination.

Across the two days, our vets worked through a busy programme of practical and clinical sessions including safe horse handling and restraint, clinical examination, lameness examination, radiography and radiation safety, clinical nutrition, medication calculations and routes of administration, practical nursing skills, medicine and surgical case clinical reasoning, bandaging and initial wound care.

The course also focused on building confidence in diagnostic and treatment planning and clinical decision-making. It was fantastic to welcome such an international group of veterinary surgeons from all over the world to TOCES. There was a huge amount to cover in two very intensive days, and it was wonderful to see everyone working together, sharing experiences and throwing themselves into the practical sessions.

We wish every one of our delegates the very best of luck in their upcoming RCVS SME OSCEs – we will be keeping our fingers crossed for you all!

🐴 What a fantastic Equine Electrotherapy CPD Day! 🐴

Yesterday, we welcomed a group of equine professionals from a variety of backgrounds including equine veterinary nurses and equine therapists, for an engaging and informative day of learning, discussion and hands-on practical experience.

We are also incredibly excited to announce that we are the first college in the UK to test the brand-new, state-of-the-art K-LASER GIRO range of Class IV Therapy and Surgical Laser devices! 🌟

Here's some of the feedback we received from attendees:
⭐ “A great learning opportunity, enjoyed it all.”
⭐ “Really enjoyed learning about the different therapies.”
⭐ “Enjoyed the instructors' practical experience and knowledge. They gave good feedback to questions.”
⭐ “A very informative day covering a wide range of modalities, with friendly and knowledgeable tutors.”

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success.

Based on the feedback received, we will be running more Equine Electrotherapy CPD Days in 2027. To maximise practical learning time, we are planning to adapt the format so that the theory element can be completed online before attending the hands-on practical day.
