Our Outdoor Adventure course is designed for those who love being active, exploring new places, and challenging themselves.

🏋️ Gym Instructor Pathway – Access state of the art Gym facilities, visit our partnering Gym - Abs-solute, Launceston - twice weekly, gain industry-recognised fitness knowledge, build coaching confidence, and develop the practical skills needed to kick-start a career in the health and fitness sector, gain your Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (nationally recognised) alongside your Sport qualification - which is a direct pathway onto the Level 3 Personal Trainer Qual!

🔥 Enjoy 6+ hours of practical, 1.5 hours daily (relative to your pathway), all built into your timetable.

Today marks the end of term across Duchy College, as our staff and students head off for a well-earned summer break.

To everyone who has been part of our Sport or Outdoor programmes this year - thank you for your hard work, commitment, resilience and team spirit. Whether you've been training, competing, studying, coaching or supporting others, you should be incredibly proud of everything you've achieved.

Now it's time to switch off, soak up the sunshine (when Cornwall allows! ☀️🌿), make memories with family and friends, and enjoy some well-deserved rest and recovery. A summer reset is just what we all need before returning refreshed, recharged and ready for another exciting year in September.

A huge thank you to one our Employer Stakeholders Liam Dart, Director of LJD Coaching for his insightful contribution to the student experience this year.

Liam came into to deliver a workshop to the learners this year about his journey through education, his experiences with coaching and how he has been able to overcome multiple challenges in being able to establish himself as one of the top providers of Sport and PE Coaching across Devon and Cornwall.

Liam challenged learners to think outside of the box during his talk and to grab any possible opportunity available to them. So much so, that a host of learners approached him for work experience opportunities at the end of his talk!

Thank you again for taking the time out of your busy schedule to be able to speak with our learners, you have definitely inspired them to take that next step and think outside of the box!

💪 A Huge Thank You to David Marriott, Walter Medlicott and the entire team at Abs-solute Health and Fitness for their incredible support this year! 💪

Their contribution to the delivery of our Fitness Pathway has been invaluable, providing our learners with access to state-of-the-art gym facilities and a wide range of professionally delivered classes, including Spin, Dance and Hyrox. These experiences have helped our students develop their practical skills, broaden their industry knowledge, and gain a deeper understanding of the fitness sector.

Throughout the year, Dave and Walt have gone above and beyond by supporting learners with different modules on our Sport course, delivering insightful sessions on topics such as:
🏋️ Running a successful gym business
📈 Setting up your own fitness facility
📝 Session planning and programme design
💼 Careers within the fitness industry

They have also helped the redesign of our own campus Gym, providing brilliant ideas and equipment to support not only our Sport students, but the wider campus too.

It is fantastic to see two Duchy College Sport alumni thriving within the local community, creating an inclusive environment where people of all abilities can train, improve, and achieve their goals. Their passion for sport and fitness continues to inspire both our learners and the wider community.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunities they have provided and look forward to continuing our fantastic working partnership. We can't wait for our new learners to experience everything Abs-solute has to offer when they join us in September! 🙌
