Concerned about department or college responses to the Supreme Court ruling and what it means for trans people?

Hello, we have put together a statement and some resources following the UK Supreme Court's ruling earlier this week. We will also be hosting a welfare social for those that are in Cambridge over the vacation next week, details to come.

Image text:
Let us be clear, trans people exist.
Trans people deserve the same kindness, human rights and dignity as anyone else.
The UK Supreme Court has chosen to allow transphobic rhetoric to be given more weight than basic science and compassion.
Transphobia goes hand-in-hand with misogyny and racism. This is not a victory for q***r rights or women’s rights.
This ruling emboldens those that wish to police what a ‘real’ woman is, based on harmful stereotypes.
To find out more about what this ruling means, and resources available, please see the statement we have made.
It includes actions you can take as an ally, to affirm your love and support for the trans community.
We are not legal experts, we are just doing the best we can with the information we have.
The mainstream media have chosen to continue to report on this in a transphobic, sensationalist way, regardless of the consequences.
Please look after yourselves, and know that there are organisations working to assess and resist this ruling.

Image descriptions:
The above text on a light pink background, with a few cartoon graphics spread throughout.
A brown woman in a pink dress standing strong, holding a large trans flag that flies above her head.
A cute green frog smiling sitting on a lily pad, hugging a trans-flag colour heart to their chest.
A graphic with the words 'Protect our trans siblings' in trans colours and sparkles.
