What Can We Take Away From COP27? With the annual climate conference happening as we speak in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, many wait with anticipation what the outcome will be of this year’s critical conference. Whether you still have hope in the ability for a climate turn-around or would like to express any fears and critiques, POGS has organized a discussion round where everyone can do just that. Whether you have immense knowledge on the happenings at the conference or would just like to learn about it, come to the New Common Room in Foundress at 16:30 on Sunday, the 20th of November! Snacks and drinks will be provided. Looking forward to seeing many of you there. Lots of green love💚

Inter-Collegiate Green Week!
Following the Facebook post a while ago, here is the finalized time-table for green week next week! All events are open to everyone in the university and they are not to be missed. For the clothing swap on Sunday, I have set up a bag for you to donate any clothes to beforehand if you cannot attend the event yourself, but would still like to donate some clothes you don’t need anymore. The bag is located in the far end of the porters lodge by the pidges. We will also be hosting one of the events at Pembroke. A plant sale will take place on Thursday, starting at 5 pm. Come by the greenhouse (as shown in the last slide) and get yourself a little friend to help you get through exam stress! Looking forward to seeing you all there. Lots of green love💚

Happy Earth Day!!
On the 22.04 we celebrate the wonderful planet we get to live on and everything it inhabits. But protecting our environment and trying to stop the climate catastrophe should not just happen on one day of the year. We have put together a small list of things you can involve into your everyday life to decrease your impact on our environment. Of course, it goes without saying that climate change is a structural issue, with more than 70% of contributing emissions coming from large corporations, which we have little impact on. That being said, doing your part to live more sustainably is still very important. Last year’s green officers have made a full-length version of this guide, which can be found in the bio. We are currently working on an updated version of this, which will be up shortly! As always, feel free to reach out to your respective green officers with any questions, remarks or comments!! Lots of green love, Mona💚

Green Week 2022
Friday’s event: We will be hosting a panel discussion to consider some of the biggest questions in environmental action: is our political and economic system capable of solving our difficult environmental challenges, or does it need to be overhauled? How do we balance economic and environmental goals? How can we be more globally equitable in approaching climate change action? How do we balance the responsibilities of corporations and of individuals in fixing harmful consumption patterns?
We will be joined by three wonderful Pembroke College speakers: Dr. Anil Madhavapeddy, James Miller, and Maryam Grassly. Following the panel, we will be having a vegan formal, kindly organized by our amazing catering staff.
