We will feature a programme called BACH AND BEYOND, with Bach's Suite no.1 for Cello and two pieces of Jeremy Thurlow. It’s been a honour for Lea Luka and I to serve as a part of this year’s CULCS committee. Admittedly, it has not been the smoothest of rides, especially with us having to deal with many pandemic-related adjustments. However, it has been an incredibly enriching experience and we’re both especially proud of the programme that we have been able to curate together over the course of the year.

If you are interested in gaining experience in the field of arts management/administration, this is an invaluable opportunity that you do not want to miss.

We look forward to receiving all your applications!

Our last concert of the term is one of the highlights of our series: We host one of the largest and most diverse Chinese orchestras in Europe.

Join us at 1.10 pm tomorrow, 15th March, at West Road Concert Hall for an enjoyable matinee of Chinese music featuring both Western and traditional Chinese instruments.

The orchestra will take you on a journey across the globe. Our concert will consist of an eclectic blend of pieces, from Liu Tieshan and Mao Yuan’ Dance of the Yao Tribe (瑶族舞曲) to an arrangement of Felix Mendelssohn’s Spring Song.

The Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra aims to promote the appreciation of both eastern and western cultures through oriental music by introducing a new generation of musical perspectives to the communities in the UK. As a Cambridge University student society, they make a significant contribution to our culturally diverse city through music that takes influences from a wide range of elements, from popular culture to traditional Chinese compositions. The unique atmosphere nurtured by the orchestra encourages musicians to fully express their musical creativity.

See you there!
