Jesuan Jeremy Soper (2014) has set a new hang-gliding world record with a 377 km closed-circuit flight across Kenya’s Rift Valley, the longest journey of its kind ever achieved in the sport.

The 10-hour, 37-minute flight set new records for both endurance and distance in one of the world’s most dramatic flying landscapes.

And Jeremy already has his sights set higher: “I’ll be back for the 400!”

You are invited to join the Intellectual Forum and Gates Cambridge at Jesus College on 3 June 2026 to explore the challenges and opportunities AI offers for social good. Despite significant investment and optimism, many artificial intelligence initiatives for social good struggle to achieve sustained impact. In this conversation, Dr Krittika D’Silva (2016, Computer Science) and Gabriella Crimi argue that the challenge lies not in the technology itself, but in how these efforts are designed, implemented, and embedded in practice. It's Mental Health Awareness Week and exam season for our students.

Our wellbeing team, together with Chapel, staff and student reps, have therefore organised a number of activities to remind everyone of the importance of taking breaks, doing things you enjoy and connecting with others.

Our first event this week was a gentle morning run along the river (followed by free breakfast). It was organised in conjunction with the College's running club, which meets at 7am every Tuesday in term time. More than 30 runners took part, including our Dean of Chapel, The Rev'd Dr James Crockford.

Later today Jack's Gelato will be offering free ice cream in The Roost.
