The Miller Lab

The Miller Lab We are a team of dedicated scientists striving to better understand the fascinating behaviors of animals and how these behaviors evolve over time.

We are students and recent Ph.D's from all over the world. Our leader is Christine Miller. We work on the evolution of morphology, function, and behavior. We focus on sexual selection in insects, examining the importance of environmental variability both for the expression of sexually-selected traits and for the process of selection itself. Most of our research is conducted with Hemipterans in the Superfamily Coreoidae.

Yesterday was my final day of work at the University of Florida.

Over my 17 years at UF, I deeply enjoyed engaging with UF’s incredible students, faculty, and staff. While I will miss them (and Florida’s terrific insects), I realized it is time for something new. And, so what is next?! I’m excited to share, and I will soon (when I can).

Even though I'm soon leaving UF, this promotion means a lot to me. Thank you for all the people who helped to make this moment possible. As women in STEM know, there are a lot of obstacles along the way and sometimes overwhelming frustration. But, there are also so many moments of light, goodness, and joy. I still find my research to be so incredibly exciting, and I'm just thrilled when I find others delighted by science and discovery 🤩
