🎙️🔊 Our latest episode of the Lucy Cavendish Podcast Series is out!

We spoke to Dr Rachana Acharya, a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology in the BioElectronic Systems Technology Research Group, and a Lucy Bye-Fellow.

Rachana is dedicated to the long-term goal of replacing animal testing through different bioelectronic organ models, and currently works with a lab focused on gut models.

She walked us through her current work and experiences at the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, UCLA, and the University of Stuttgart. She also described how meaningful she has found it to be connected to a college, her Lucy life, and noted those who have most notably impacted her academic journey.

💡👏 We are thrilled for Sheraspace founder and CEO, Sarjeena Maodud (MSt in Entrepreneurship, 2021), who was shortlisted for the University of Cambridge's Emerging Alumni Award.

Founded in 2019, Sheraspace was the first company in Bangladesh to offer online interior design services, and has delivered over 6,500 spaces.

Sarjeena feels "honoured to have made the shortlist not only because it acknowledges what [she] did right, but even more so because it recognises the full journey including the challenges, the obstacles and the resilience that all led to this eventual outcome".

Learn about Sarjeena's journey:

Sarjeena Maodud was shortlisted for the University of Cambridge's Emerging Alumni Award, which will be awarded in September.
