At Cambridge, we believe that chemical engineering and biotechnology have a key role to play in global issues such as the environment, sustainability and healthcare. Our aim is to produce the academic, industrial and entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow, and to create advances in chemical engineering and biotechnology through working at the interfaces with the underpinning science disciplines of chemistry, biology and physics.

CEB researchers have designed two new Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) that show record-breaking gas storage capacity.

Both hydrogen and methane are promising alternatives to traditional fuels in the transition to clean and renewable energy, with hydrogen expected to play a crucial role in hard-to-electrify sectors such as heavy-duty trucking and shipping.
