At the start of every committee, the JCR produces a survey to gather student opinion on key issues, helping us decide which areas to focus on. The time has come around for us to collect your responses by filling out the short survey attached below. It is really important for us to work on areas that matter to Selwyn undergrads the most and so we would really appreciate your time to fill out the survey - it should take 5 minutes max!

Filling out the survey helps us to represent your wishes and also greatly supports us when raising key student concerns with college. So, please take the time to fill out the survey if you can.

What's more, for every survey completed we will give £1 to charity. On top of this, we pledge to donate an additional £100 when 150 responses are reached and an extra £50 once 200 responses are reached. So please do take the time to complete it and encourage your friends to do so as well.

All responses are completely anonymous so we encourage you to be as honest as possible!

A momentous day for the JCR as years of campaigning and discussions with college has resulted in this promise! Much thanks to past and present Selwyn students as well as college figures that have made this happen!

In recent years the college has divested from all direct investments in fossil fuel companies

There are now new access hours in the Selwyn gym!! This change has come about by campaigning by the JCR over a number of years! Any queries please contact our gender equality officer Bella!

Women’s and marginalised genders, Wednesday 4:30-6
Men’s and marginalised genders, Thursday 4:30-6
(Weekly hours open to those who self identify)
How will this work?
• Each week during the set hours, the gym will only be open to those who self-identify with the category
• These hours won't be monitored so please respect other gym users choice to be there
Why do we need this?
• We want everyone to feel safe to exercise without fear of harassment or innapropriate behaviour.
• Whilst we acknowledge that this is unacceptable, unfortunately it remains a reality for many, particularly for students of a marginalised gender
• This also allows students from religious minorities to practice their beliefs and access gym facilities

This is open to all current students (undergraduates, mature students, postgraduates etc.) and you can either state who you want to be partnered with (remember to discuss this with them too) or you can leave it to our match-making magic.

An exciting message from Lucy Wilkinson the Selwyn Varsity Ski rep: Varsity Trip 2021 are looking for a variety of performers and DJs to audition for several events across the week. Update on the new library windows :)))
Hi all, we've had a chat with college and now the windows in the new library will be always be open (apart from when it's raining) between 8:30am-9:00pm. Therefore they won't be causing so much noise opening and shutting. Good luck with exams! love from the JCR

Hi everyone - I’m Lucy, your new Varsity Ski Trip college rep suffering from withdrawal symptoms from no skiing trips this year… yet.

For those that don’t know, Varsity Trip is the world’s oldest and largest ski trip, with over 3000 students from Oxford and Cambridge attending annually.

The trip’s open to all skiing abilities - in most recent years, up to a third of attendees have been complete beginners.

VT21 has been 2 years in the making after VT20 was cancelled - apres ski and festival style parties are going to be huge and better than ever this December, all at student prices.
