Football as a force for climate action?⚽🌍

Former pro footballer Kash Siddiqi 🇺🇳⚽️ and charity Football for Peace (FfP) are driving global water restoration through the Rehydrate the Earth campaign, supporting river revival projects, youth-led environmental action, and long-term water sustainability initiatives.

As participants on the Cambridge Peaceshaping and Climate Incubator and supported by football leaders, the initiative shows how sport can unite communities around some of the world’s biggest environmental challenges. 🌱💧

Applications are open for the BCG UK Social Enterprise Award 2026 which recognises outstanding social enterprises driving change in health, education, and social mobility.

Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation (CCSI)‘s Nicole Helwigis going to be on the judging panel, alongside other leaders from business and the social sector!

The winning organisation will receive an 8‑week strategy engagement with a dedicated BCG team to help scale their impact.

He goes on to urge social innovators to shift toward ‘organisational vitality’, regenerating life rather than destruction.
