🎓🔬 We’re pleased to celebrate Alumna and Life Member Noa Leach, Clare Hall’s first recipient of a full Boak Studentship, who is now Special Projects Editor at BBC Science Focus.

Noa has spoken warmly about the impact of the Boak Studentship on her studies and career, and we’re very proud to see all that she has achieved since leaving Clare Hall.

🌺 Clare Hall’s Head Gardener, David Smith, has recently marked an impressive 20 years of service to the College.

Over the past two decades, David has become an enormously valued part of the Clare Hall community. His exceptional knowledge, skill and care are reflected throughout the College gardens, which he tends with dedication and a deep understanding of the landscape.

We are incredibly grateful for everything David has contributed to Clare Hall over the years, not only through his work in the gardens, but also as a much-loved and respected colleague. We warmly congratulate him on this very special milestone and thank him for 20 wonderful years at the College ❤️

Our Dining Hall brings students, Fellows and visiting academics together in a relaxed setting, with no separate High Table and plenty of opportunities to meet people beyond your own field.

Food is an important part of College life too. Clare Hall is proud to be a pioneer in sustainable collegiate dining, with delicious, varied menus that increasingly feature sustainably sourced, plant-based and low-carbon choices. 🌱

🎉 Clare Hall is delighted to share that Affiliated Postdoctoral Member and entrepreneur Dr Elizabeth Barsotti has won funding through the Innovate UK AI Champions Frontier AI competition with her company, CBX Technologies.

The award will support the development of CAMERA, a new AI solution for infrastructure and Net Zero projects. By analysing evolving sources such as news and social media, CAMERA aims to identify emerging public concerns earlier, helping industry engage more effectively with communities, build trust and reduce risks that can lead to project delays.

Join us on 21 September for our Postgraduate Open Day and spend an afternoon getting to know the College and the people who make up our community 🌿

🍽️ Have lunch in the Dining Hall, meet current students and our Senior Tutor, explore the College and ask anything you would like to know about accommodation, funding, support and everyday life at Clare Hall.

Lunch begins at 1pm, with tea and coffee from 1.30pm. You can take a self-guided tour throughout the afternoon or join the guided College tour at 2pm 👣

🎹🇧🇷 Join acclaimed pianist and Clare Hall Musician-in-Residence Patrick Hemmerlé for an evening of Brazilian piano music on Saturday 8 August.

Featuring works by Camargo Guarnieri and Heitor Villa-Lobos, the programme brings together vivid rhythms, expressive melodies and distinctive musical colours. Drawing on both European traditions and Brazil’s rich cultural identity, these two composers played a defining role in shaping twentieth-century Brazilian music.
