Kent Sport The University of Kent’s Department of Sport, Physical Activity, and Recreation.

With a dedicated Sports Development team, fully qualified Health and Fitness instructors and support staff - the department offers a wide range of services and caters for many different activities, from archery to zumba or just a casual workout. The department hopes to encourage everyone to keep fit and healthy and strives to create a relaxed atmosphere for people to train and enjoy themselves - whether they are a recreational user or a serious athlete. The University of Kent provides sports facilities for students and staff as well as the general public with different types of membership available.

We're really excited about the major refurbishment coming to the Kent Sport gym very soon! Take a look at some of the beautiful visuals from Technogym 👀

Work to upgrade the gym will start on Friday 11 September and we're planning to launch the brand new gym on Monday 21 September with all new equipment and a completely refreshed space.

With that timeline, we're letting members know that the gym will be closed on Friday 11 September through to Sunday 20 September.

We can't wait to get this project underway and share this incredible new space with you all soon! 🏋

☀️ What a summer it’s been at Summerzone!

We’ve had a blast over the past two weeks, with plenty of fun, games and new skills at our multi-sport activity camp! From tennis and football to mini golf and cricket, there’s been something for everyone to enjoy. ⚽🎾🏏⛳

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us! We’ve loved seeing so many children getting active, having fun and making memories. 💙

🏋️ A BIG upgrade is coming to Kent Sport! 🎉

We’re investing almost £1 million this summer to transform our gym and fitness spaces, putting your experience at the heart of the refurbishment!

So, what’s coming? 👀
✨ Brand-new gym equipment across our cardiovascular, resistance and free-weight areas
✨ Refreshed, redesigned fitness spaces with an improved look and feel
✨ Enhanced fitness services and digital experiences
✨ A new partnership with Technogym, a global leader in fitness and wellness technology
✨ 16 new Group Exercise Cycles in the Studio, paving the way for interactive Technogym Ride classes 🚴

Whether you train regularly, want to stay active, support your wellbeing or simply make exercise part of your routine, we’re creating spaces designed to help you get more from your Kent Sport experience.

🔨 Work will soon be underway, with installation of the new equipment expected to begin from mid-September. We’ll be sharing more updates as the refurbishment takes shape, so keep an eye on our social media, website and blogs for all the latest.

Urgent facility update:

Due to the extreme heat forecast, we are temporarily suspending all high-intensity sports in our indoor sports halls and the indoor tennis centre on Friday 26 June to ensure the safety of our customers and staff.

We expect indoor sports to be available again on Saturday 27 June. We apologise for any inconvenience.
