Meet Dr Philip Ulrich at our Open Day this Sunday. You’ll be able to ask him (and other staff members) questions about studying psychology at CCCU, chat with some of our current students about life on the course, and explore our state-of-the-art lab. You can even try out some of our equipment, including a VR headset.

We look forward to seeing you! If you can’t make it, send us a DM with any questions.

Research Spotlight 🔍

Our Psychology Senior Lecturer Kristina Massey was invited to speak at a legal conference the other week. She presented some of her research and was really excited to see that the person speaking before her was a former student on the MSc in Forensic and Investigative Psychology here at CCCU!

So, one day, you may be presenting alongside your lecturers as a fellow expert in your field 🎓

⭐ Research Spotlight: Interdisciplinary Research Network Conference

Last month, members of our CCCU Psychology research community presented their work at the 3rd Interdisciplinary Research Network Conference.

👉 Dr Philip Ulrich shared an interdisciplinary storytelling project involving people living with dementia
👉 Dr Dennis Nigbur presented research exploring connections between Christianity and the natural environment.
👉  PhD researcher Sameena Hoda, supervised by Dennis, also presented her research examining how refugee arrivals in Kent are represented by local news media.

It is wonderful to see such varied and socially relevant research represented at the conference. Well done! 👏

We love this time of year. 🎨 A new academic year is here, and what better way to kick things off than a colour run during freshers’ week? A huge well done to our staff members Richard, Mark, and Dennis for taking part, and to any of our students who ran alongside them. Or, in Phil’s words, ‘well done boys’!

Now, let’s get this year started.

Teaching has officially kicked off this week, and we can feel the energy! Wishing all our new and returning students a brilliant start to the academic year.

🥳 A very warm welcome to our brand new BSc Psychology first year students!

It has been lovely to meet you all during induction yesterday and today, and to start getting to know you as you begin your journey with us. We rounded things off with Café Psychology, including a fun staff bingo and team challenges, with Dennis’ PAT group taking the win. 🏆

We’re looking forward to seeing what you’ll bring to the Psychology community over the year ahead and are excited to start teaching next week.

🚨 ⚖️  Field trips aren’t just a “nice to have”. For MSc Forensic and Investigative Psychology students at CCCU, and Psychology students on other pathways where spaces allow, they’re one of the most formative parts of the course.

We still have spaces available on MSc Forensic and Investigative Psychology for this academic year.

From prisons to police and court settings, these visits help students connect what they learn in lectures with the environments they may go on to work in.

Swipe to hear what students had to say.

There is something really special about watching our students walk across the stage at graduation.

Behind each moment are years of work, growth, dissertation stress, friendships, setbacks, and so many achievements that cannot really be captured in a few seconds of video.

To our Psychology graduates: we are so proud of you, and we cannot wait to see where you go next. 🎓
