ABOUT THE EVENT
The annual Speaking of Science conference is a unique and very popular student-led event for all postgraduate researchers in both sciences and engineering at Cardiff and the GW4 alliance (Bath, Bristol, Exeter). The conference provides a brilliant opportunity for postgraduates to practice their p
resentation and poster design skills in a supervisor-free zone and present their research to an interdisciplinary, general scientific audience. It is also an opportunity to learn about the research taking place in Cardiff and GW4. The conference is organised and run by a group of postgraduates, backed by the University Graduate College, and is open to first year to final year postgraduate students. Postgraduate researchers will give 10-15 minute talks or 3-5 minute 'fire talks', followed by brief questions across a wide range of subjects and disciplines. Presenters are encouraged to aim their presentations towards a level that can be understood by people of other disciplines than the one presented. There will also be keynote speakers providing you with skills and in-depth knowledge on specific research. This conference is open to all MPhils and PhDs across the Physical, Biomedical and Life Sciences at Cardiff University, University of Bath, University of Bristol, and University of Exeter. Attendance is free of charge and PRIZES will be awarded for the best talks and "fire talks". SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT
Postgraduate researchers are invited to submit an abstract (of no more than 250 words) for consideration by the student committee.
