Marine Geography at Cardiff Marine Geography is the study of the ocean and its coastlines. Marine Geography is the study of the ocean and its coastlines - the geography of the sea.

Cardiff University is a great place to study & the degree sits within the established School of Earth & Ocean Sciences, offering a wealth of knowledge & research disciplines within it's staff Marine geographers study the socio-economic relationships between people and the physical characteristics of the sea and coast at global and local scales. We augment traditional landbased geographic skills wi

th new techniques and approaches in order to understand the fascinating geography that lies offshore and beneath the ocean surface. Marine geography offers an offshore perspective and the opportunity to pursue studies beyond the low-water line.

Quite an experience this last few days attending graduations in the Principality Stadium. So pleased to see that our students from the last 3 years could finally have such celebrations. Great to catch up with our alumni too and discover all the amazing careers and experiences are graduates are enjoying. From hydrographic surveyors to marine planners, sustainability shipping consultants and flood risk planners, Marine Geographers are there!! Well done to our 2022, 2021 and 2020 alumni!!
