Our BSc (Hons) Food Science and Technology, BSc (Hons) Nutrition understand food from a multidisciplinary perspective. Focusing on a combination of science, technology, management and nutrition which underpin the behaviour along the food supply chain, including how health is affected by our diet. The three courses are designed to focus in to these topics at varying depths, depending on your aptitu
de and personal interests. Within each programme you can choose to undertake an optional three-month or year-long placement during your degree. Each placement is applied for by the student with support from the academic team. Our programmes are designed in line with the latest industry, research and government developments, and all of our academic staff are engaged in both teaching and research. Students are therefore given the most relevant, up-to-date academic experience throughout their study. For those who want to continue research post-graduation, we have a highly experienced PhD programme team, with extensive knowledge in all aspects of food and nutrition. We will encourage you to undertake research training, and give you the support you need to complete your thesis and publish your findings.
