We're amid the final Lead Mentor Visits to trainees in schools now. A big thanks to The Nelson Thomlinson School for hosting the first of this week’s ITAP days. Ros Morley and Rebecca Galley led a really interesting day on disciplinary literacy, followed up on Tuesday with our deliberate practice work to utilise the strategies and concepts encountered.

Our CSA cohort are just a couple of weeks away from finishing "B" placements now. Teaching load up to around 60% of a .8 teacher. It's the third time of year when they get observation visits. After Easter they return to "A" placements for the final stretch. Learning all the time!

A really enjoyable start to the third ITAP week for our secondary CSA and One Cumbria trainees. Caldew School were great hosts on Monday, with four informative and engaging sessions. Today at Trinity School - A Church of England Academy we reflected back on those and their place within the concept of Mastery in teaching. Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith tomorrow for a look at strategies including dual coding.

This year’s cohort are now in the final month or so of “A School” placements, with second Lead Mentor visits imminent. Always great to see them in action!
We’re also busy in the recruitment process for the Sep 2026 start. Apply soon if you’re interested, before places are full!
