"Reflecting on my journey, I believe confidence and tenacity matter as much as technical knowledge. Building a career in a new country is rarely straightforward, but persistence compounds over time. As I often remind myself: “Just like markets, we humans are listed stocks. When the world beats us down, that is when we should invest more in ourselves and in good people around us because that is where the best long-term value is created."

When Soumik Coomar moved to the UK from India at the age of 22, he knew he was stepping into the unfamiliar. What he didn't anticipate was how formative his time at ARU would become not just in shaping his career direction, but also his mindset.

It was fantastic to see such creativity and innovation on display at ARU Chelmsford's Architecture End of Year Show last week🎉

The event provided a brilliant opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work and talent, bringing together a diverse range of inspiring projects. It also offered a valuable chance for students to meet industry professionals, make connections, and gain insight into the next steps in their careers.

Most importantly, it was wonderful to see everyone come together to celebrate each other’s achievements and the culmination of an incredible year.

A big thank you to the ARU staff who organised the day, and to the industry guests who attended to support the students. Congratulations to all of our Architecture students—your dedication and creativity truly shone through 👏

📢 Your faculty helpdesk has moved!

The iCentre in Chelmsford is now your first stop for student support, advice, and information 💬

Last week, our final‑year Engineering students took centre stage at ARU Chelmsford’s first-ever Engineering End of Year Show 🔧✨

The event gave students the opportunity to showcase their final projects, talk through their ideas and outcomes, and connect with peers and invited industry professionals. It was a brilliant chance to see the high‑quality work our students produce, supported by dedicated academic staff and industry‑informed teaching.

We’d like to thank the industry guests and ARU academic colleagues who supported the judging process, taking the time to review and score the projects on display. Congratulations to all of the competition winners. 👏

We’re incredibly proud of our final‑year students and wish them every success as they take their next steps. This show is a great example of how ARU supports students to engage with industry and prepare for their future careers.
