Last week, our final‑year Engineering students took centre stage at ARU Chelmsford’s first-ever Engineering End of Year Show 🔧✨

The event gave students the opportunity to showcase their final projects, talk through their ideas and outcomes, and connect with peers and invited industry professionals. It was a brilliant chance to see the high‑quality work our students produce, supported by dedicated academic staff and industry‑informed teaching.

We’d like to thank the industry guests and ARU academic colleagues who supported the judging process, taking the time to review and score the projects on display. Congratulations to all of the competition winners. 👏

We’re incredibly proud of our final‑year students and wish them every success as they take their next steps. This show is a great example of how ARU supports students to engage with industry and prepare for their future careers.

✨ We were delighted to welcome Ariston UK to our Chelmsford Campus last week! ✨

This followed their generous donation of a Nimbus Pocket 50 (5kW) air source heat pump, supporting research activity within our Engineering department.

The visit included a tour of our specialist facilities, followed by inspiring PhD and MEng research presentations from our Engineering students. These explored the thermodynamic cycle and the practical application of low-carbon heating technologies ♻️🔥

Opportunities like this help our students bring theory to life, engage directly with industry, and develop the skills and confidence employers are looking for 💡

Thank you to the team at Ariston UK for supporting our students and contributing to our research and innovation in sustainable engineering!

ARU will close for the Easter break at 17:00 on Wednesday 1 April, and we will reopen on the morning of Wednesday 8 April.

🌱🐣 We hope you can take a break, crack open some Easter eggs, enjoy the lighter evenings and spend time with friends and family.

🏫 If you are staying local, you are welcome to visit campus. Our libraries, social spaces and green areas will stay open for you to use.
