When the GROWE toolkit goes live, you will be able to hear our very own Adeela explain the importance of integrating social and emotional learning into our teaching across the curriculum!

Work is progressing on the GROWE toolkit which will help teachers implement the GROWE model into their teaching. Professor Adeela Shafi, an international expert on SEL, was interviewed to capture her insights into why social and emotional learning is so critical to students’ academic development. Watch out for the launch of the toolkit to hear what she has to say!

The University of Gloucestershire has been interviewing our teachers on their experiences of the GROWE training and the importance of focussing on both disciplinary literacy and social and emotional learning in their teaching. Thank you to Jenny Carruthers, Becky Harbour and Emma Park from Cleeve School for such helpful insights into implementing the GROWE model. Their interviews will be available to view in the forthcoming toolkit!

It is great to see the final phase of the GROWE project in full swing. Look out for the OER which will be available in the Autumn!

We started to work on the Toolkit - an Open Educational Resource (OER) which will include good practice to inspire teachers to adopt effective strategies for developing their students’ literacy and social-emotional skills.
The photo was shot during the interview with Charles Temple, professor of Education at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (US), senior consultant in literacy. Charles shared with us some relevant issues related to disciplinary literacy.
