PhD Student, Sabine Kussmaul, recently exhibited her work in the CASC gallery under her research collection of “Artmaking in the outdoor environment: negotiating experiential and material complexities”.

Sabine visited Bakestonedale Moor around 150 times during the period of May 2019 and February 2025 where she made artwork using a ‘mobile working kit’ fabricated from paper, fabric, string, and wooden sticks. She documents the changes her artmaking brings to the landscape through videos, photographs, and drawings.

For all you potential new UoC students, here is the first in our short series on how to prepare for your portfolio interview with Art and Design!! Here’s our favourites:

What questions would you ask for your interview? For those of you who have been there, done that; what’s your top advice for the newbies?
