English Department -University of Chester We would like to welcome all the new students to Chester and wish the returning students a very happy and productive year.

The Department of English is the largest department in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Chester. There are some seven hundred students following BA programmes in English literature, English language, and creative writing, or studying MA programmes in nineteenth-century literature and culture, modern and contemporary fiction, and creative writing, or engaged in postgraduate research l

eading to MPhil or PhD awards. The Department has more than thirty full-time and part-time staff whose offices can be found in the Old Vicarage or in Rockmount a short walk from the old Vicarage.
