Chesterfield College Rated Ofsted Good with Outstanding Teacher Training. Our mission is: Inspiring futures, changing lives. Our mission is simple. Inspiring futures, changing lives.

Our vision? Empowering people through education, where individuals grow and communities thrive. Graded as Ofsted Good with our Teacher Training provision graded as Ofsted Outstanding, we find our inspiration and drive from the learning communities we serve from both our Chesterfield and Derby campuses. For example, Level 3 Health and Social Care learner Mahmoud Bitar Maatouk, who kindly details our history and what it means to him. "Chesterfield College, nestled in the heart of Derbyshire, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1841. Originally on the site of a cheese factory, it became established as a mechanics institute and it has since evolved into a vibrant hub of education, offering a diverse range of courses and opportunities for students. Throughout its journey, Chesterfield College has remained committed to providing accessible education to all, empowering individuals to pursue their passions and achieve their aspirations. Its legacy is woven into the fabric of the community, shaping the lives of countless individuals over generations. To me, Chesterfield College is more than just an institution; it's a catalyst for personal growth and transformation. It's where I discovered my strengths, honed my skills, and forged lifelong friendships. It provided not only academic knowledge but also invaluable life lessons and experiences that have shaped who I am today. Chesterfield College represents resilience, opportunity, and the power of education to change lives. As it continues to adapt and innovate in an ever-changing world, its legacy will endure, inspiring future
generations to reach for the stars.

⚡ From T Level student to Apprentice Electrical Engineer!

Oliver Shooter completed his T Level in Building Services Engineering earlier this year and is now putting his skills into practice in the electrical industry.

💬 Oliver says:

“The industry placement was also a good part of the course which allowed me to learn how electricians work and what working in the industry really looked like, this helped decide if I could continue my career in this field.”

Now working as an Apprentice Electrical Engineer, Oliver is gaining valuable hands-on experience in industrial work and enjoying his chosen career.

His advice to anyone thinking about starting the course?

💬 “If you're just starting this course it is worth the time and effort, it will help you decide whether you actually like the job and give you a lot of knowledge ready for beginning your career.”
