We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Adam Lenson — director, writer, dramaturg and a true creative force of nature. A passionate, generous and fearless advocate for new musical theatre, Adam brought extraordinary energy, imagination and vision to everything he did.
We were fortunate to work with Adam in October 2023 on a workshop of Darren Clark and Rhys Jennings’ musical Turing. It was a privilege to have him in the room, sharing his creativity, insight and expertise with our students, and giving them the opportunity to learn from someone so deeply committed to the development of new work.
Adam leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, not only in the work he championed and helped bring to life, but in the artists he inspired, the voices he helped nurture and the future of musical theatre that he worked so tirelessly to shape. His influence will continue to be felt across the industry and by all those fortunate enough to have worked with him.
Sending love and heartfelt thoughts to his family, close friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
