Frances graduated from Chichester with a BA Hons Adventure Education in 2016, an incredible achievement given that she has Autism with highly complex needs including, significant communication difficulties, extreme anxiety and people phobia, synaesthesia/sensory perceptual difficulties. All this means that she is extremely vulnerable and unable to live independently, requiring 2:1 support 24:7.

Adventure Education alumni Richard Lee is organising and hosting a reunion for AdEd students past and present to mark the 20th anniversary of the Outdoor Education programme at the University of Chichester. The weekend celebration will take place at Hockwald Hall in Norfolk, commencing 5pm on Friday September 25th 2020. The University are not directly involved in the running of this event and all inquiries should be directed to Richard via the Hockram Hall website or through the link below.

Calling current Ad Ed students and near by alumni! We’ve started up a Roundnet team and thought you guys might be interested to come have a go!

We train Mondays 6-7pm
It’s a quality game, easily portable and used anywhere (sand, snow, grass, rivers) and we’ve found loads of outdoor instructor guys into it. This is an example of how good it can get. If your interested follow us on Instagram and come down next Monday to try it out!

Plas Gwynant Student Internship

The basics of the internship are as follows:

The period is from the 01.09.19 – 31.08.20
The financial package is £9000 per annum.
Accommodation is available on site at a cost of £150 per month
Food available at £80 per month
There is no training budget directly associated with the internship. However, informal opportunities may become available if funding allows.


Students apply for the job through the West Midlands jobs service which an online facility. As the internship has only just been signed off there is, as yet, no link and no way of actually applying but I’m hoping this will be rectified very soon. In the meantime, if you have any students who are interested in the position, then ask them to contact me directly and I will answer any questions they may have and store their details, so that I can let them know directly once the MW jobs advert comes out and they can apply.

I hope this finds you well.

In addition to having Archie and Mikey doing a great job here for us, I wanted to say thanks for putting Cameron in touch too, he has started his employment and I am sure it comes as no surprise to you that he is fantastic and settling into ‘Skern life’ well. We have also employed Megan who joins us in a few weeks, and having interviewed her I am sure she will also shine.

I wonder if you can assist me once again with our employment? We have an unusual vacancy which will may suit an Ad-Ed or P.E. student with outdoor interests. We have 8 weeks of work available from 1st June – end of July, Board and Lodgings available and a great chance to get a summer in Devon (paid) and also a foot in the door here.. As you know most seasonal employees would be looking for a longer contract, hence I feel it may suit a student timetable better.
