🇪🇺 Celebrating Europe Day 2026 🇪🇺

We were delighted to mark Europe Day on 9 May with an inspiring visit for 10 of our Modern Foreign Languages students.

Students had the opportunity to attend a thought-provoking talk delivered by representatives from the European Parliament’s Liaison Office in the UK, gaining valuable insight into European institutions and international collaboration.

A special mention goes to Andressa, who confidently posed a thoughtful and challenging question about the possibility of the UK rejoining the EU in the future - demonstrating curiosity, critical thinking, and engagement with global issues.

Opportunities like this empower our students to broaden their perspectives and develop as informed global citizens. 🌍✨

🏏 Progress continues at SFX SACS Cricket Academy

In just two short years since we partnered with , our Surrey Talent Pathway SACS Cricket Academy has made tremendous strides - and this week perfectly captures the journey: a mix of celebration and resilience.

Following impressive victories against Therfield, Caterham, and Robert Clack schools, the team faced a tough challenge against . While the result didn’t go our way, it was a fantastic match, and our players showed real determination and quality against one of the strongest cricketing schools in the county.

We couldn’t be prouder of how far this group has come in such a short space of time. The future is bright - onwards and upwards! 💪🌟

Fantastic news! 🎉

Following reverification, St Francis Xavier Sixth Form College has achieved the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools – Silver Status Award.

At SFX, mental health support is at the heart of what we do. With a dedicated counsellor, welfare officer, 18 trained Mental Health First Aiders, student wellbeing ambassadors, and regular tutorial sessions focused on wellbeing, we’re committed to supporting every member of our community.

The report highlighted that staff feel valued and supported, while students shared how safe and well supported they feel at the college. Parents also receive regular feedback on both progress and wellbeing, reinforcing our whole-community approach.

We’re incredibly proud that this important work has been recognised. 💙

🎭 Bringing language to life beyond the classroom 🇪🇸

Our Spanish A-Level students recently visited Brixton House to watch My Uncle Is Not Pablo Escobar - an inspiring and thought-provoking production exploring language, culture and identity in powerful ways.

What made the evening even more special was the opportunity to meet members of the cast afterwards, with some students recognising familiar faces from previous workshops delivered at SFX by .

At SFX, we place real importance on authentic, real-world experiences that connect directly to our students’ studies. Opportunities like this allow learners to engage with the Spanish language in meaningful contexts, deepen their cultural understanding, and see their learning come alive through lived stories and experiences.
A fantastic evening, and one our students won’t forget! ✨

🖤🎭 A Spooktacular Final Production 🎭🖤

It’s been a busy and exciting time in Performing Arts! After last week’s fantastic Year 1 show, our Year 2 UAL: University of the Arts London level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts students took to the stage for their final production, The Addams Family.

This wonderfully spooky performance celebrated love, individuality and being unapologetically yourself - brought to life through strong performances, creative production work and brilliant teamwork.

With two performances, including a matinee for staff and students and an evening show for friends and family, it was a brilliant showcase of talent and dedication from everyone involved.

A huge congratulations to our Year 2 students on such a memorable final production - what an achievement! 👏✨

🎬✨ Celebrating Creative Media Excellence ✨🎬

Last week saw an incredible evening celebrating the creativity, talent and hard work of our UAL: University of the Arts London Creative Media Year 13 students at their Final Exhibition.

From powerful documentaries and short films to magazines, photography and animations, the showcase highlighted the diverse creative voices and impressive technical skills our students have developed throughout the course. It was fantastic to welcome families and friends who joined us to experience the work on display.

A huge congratulations to all of our students — we’re incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next! 👏🚀

🎉 Huge congratulations to our SFX Marsden Marchers! 🎉

A massive well done to our brilliant front office team, Eve and Philomena, who completed the Banham Marsden March on Sunday in support of the The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity💙

Not only have they raised nearly £1,000 so far for this amazing cause, they also had a celebrity moment en route — bumping into none other than TV icon and fellow Royal Marsden supporter Davina McCall, who was taking part in the march too ⭐️📺

We’re incredibly proud of you both — fundraising, fitness, and a touch of TV stardom along the way 🙌👏

Midsummer Reimagined 🌿✨

This performance, performed by Year 1 UAL Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts students, marked the culmination of their first year, celebrating their growth, creativity and hard work. The students proudly presented two performances — a daytime show for fellow students and a special evening performance for families and friends.

Inspired by Shakespeare’s classic play, this reimagining followed young lovers challenging parental control, exposing corruption, and finding the courage to be their true selves. A joyful, confident and powerful way to end the year — huge congratulations to everyone involved 👏🎭
