University of Bristol Dance Society

University of Bristol Dance Society UoB Dance Society offers a full weekly time-table of professionally-led dance classes for all interests and abilities. We are proudly part of Bristol SU.

The society holds a massive annual dance show, smaller performances and competition opportunities. Classes are open to everyone age 16+, students and non-students, members and non-members of any ability. We offer classes that run throughout the week in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, street, commercial Latin, lyrical, street, hip hop and an accessibility class. Classes are open to ALL levels, i.e

. beginners to advanced. Our timetable can be found on our SU page.

1-hour classes are £3 for members and £4 for non members. 1.5-hour classes are £4 for members and £5 for non-members. Yearly membership is £22 and can be purchased from http://www.bristolsu.org.uk/groups/dance-society-1045 - just click 'join this group' and pay for membership. We are very pleased to announce that Bristol Dance Society has achieved Gold Accreditation in the Bristol SU Group Accreditation Scheme for the 4th year running!!!

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make this happen especially the committee who have continuously gone above and beyond to help the society reach this goal. A special thank you to Juliet, our Secretary, who has organised BAS for dance soc and worked very hard to ensure we achieve this award!

🚨LAST CLASSES OF THE 24/25 YEAR🚨 (😭💔🥺)

Exams are over and its time for summer!! But first….
The beloved Bethany is teaching heels and commercial on Tuesday - will be int/adv but all levels welcome and get involved!! Heels is 2-3pm and commercial 3-4pm, each is £3 for members, £4 for non members with tickets sold on the door.

We are SO EXCITED to welcome back the incredible Laura on Friday. She’s an incredible dancer whose experience includes performing at Glastonbury last year and dancing with , you check out her profile here: .e.dance She has taught several workshops for us in the past and they are always the absolute best vibes, full of encouragement, positivity and fire choreography, so come along 2-3:30pm Friday! She will be teaching an epic 90 minutes of grooves, which is a combination of hiphop, commercial and afrobeat styles giving maximum opportunities for serving sass celebrating the end of a fabulous year! ✨This workshop is £4 for members and £5 for nonmembers, tickets sold on the door.

Both of these will be in AR6, which is the stage end of the Anson Rooms, on the first floor of the SU. This means there’s plenty of room so we hope to see loads of you there!!!

BIG NEWS!! Our lovely Amaka is back to teach a tap workshop, after being on the competition tap team throughout her time at Bristol and choreographing tap at UCL we are so lucky to have her back to teach again!

This workshop will be held in the dance studio in the Richmond building Thursday the 22nd of May 4-5pm so come along 🕺🏽🕺🏽

We are so excited to have Ruby and Grace teach a section of the Adv Contemporary routine choreographed for competitions this year! The team had lots of success this year placing 1st at Sheffield and 2nd at Nottingham. They also received an award for Best Choreography at Sheffield and were the highest scoring dance!! Here we have our timetable for classes on Wednesday, taught by our fabulous teachers!!

Jazz at 2pm, Lyrical at 3pm and Ballet at 5pm will all be in the Dance Studio and are £3 for members and £4 for non members.

Commercial latin with Iris is 6-7:30pm and will be in the Carpenter Rooms, £4 for members, £5 non members.
