Don’t just sing about it… wear one!

For generations, the sash has represented more than just a song, it is a symbol of history, heritage, tradition and the values that have been proudly carried forward by those before us.

The friendships, brotherhood and culture we enjoy today continue because people choose to take an active part and help preserve these traditions for future generations.

Tomorrow the Brethren of Gartsherrie LOL No. 8 will once again take to the streets to mark the 336th Anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.

This year's main demonstration will take place in Wishaw, where Brethren, Sisters, Bandsmen, Bandswomen and supporters from across the country will gather in proud remembrance of the victory that helped secure our cherished Civil and Religious Liberty.

As we parade, we do so with pride in our history, respect for our traditions, and gratitude for the sacrifices of those who came before us. We look forward to joining with our fellow Lodges for what promises to be another memorable day of fellowship and commemoration.

On behalf of the Worthy Master, Trustees and Members we would to wish everyone travelling to Wishaw a safe journey and an enjoyable day.

The countdown is now well and truly on for our own County Grand Lodge of Central Scotland Boyne Demonstration, which this year takes place in Wishaw.

To get everyone in the spirit of the occasion, we'll be hosting our annual Pre-Parade Party on Friday evening in the Social Club. Entertainment will be provided by a Loyalist DJ along with Prince Of Orange FB, from 7.00pm until 10.00pm, and best of all, entry is completely free.

Then it's on to the big day. We will leave Summerlee at 8.30am, making our way through Gartsherrie before heading up to the Orange Hall to join the rest of the District. From there, we'll proceed to Drumpellier Park to board the buses for Wishaw.

On our return from the demonstration, the District will parade back to the Orange Hall before we make our way back to Gartsherrie, Moving off at 5.15pm.

Yesterday a number of members of Gartsherrie LOL No. 8 made the short journey through to Baillieston to parade alongside our good friends in Baillieston True Blues LOL No. 2 as they took to the streets for this year's Glasgow County Boyne Demonstration.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Worthy Master, Trustees and members of LOL No. 2 for the kind invitation to join them on parade. Your warm hospitality and friendship were greatly appreciated, and we thank you for making us so welcome.

We wish you every success for the remainder of the Boyne season and look forward to parading with you again in the future.
