CSEE’s Dr Haider Raza has been selected for the prestigious Royal Society Pairing Scheme 2026 🎉

As part of the programme, he will collaborate with government experts to explore how science informs national decision-making.

This programme brings scientists and policymakers together at the heart of Government, the scheme offers a unique opportunity to engage with real-world challenges. Dr Raza recently met with senior policymakers, contributing to discussions on the adoption of artificial intelligence in public health, including governance, responsible use, and workforce upskilling 🤖🏥

The Essex Brain-Computer Interfaces and Neural Engineering Lab will be taking part as a live hub in the BCI & Neurotechnology Spring School 2026! With UK BCI Consortium and the Essex Neurotech Society!

Hosted at the Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex our lab will be contributing to this fantastic international event focused on brain-computer interface research and innovation.

CSEE proudly showcased its leading role in advancing secure and trustworthy hardware at the Royal Academy of Engineering’s RISE Collaborative Research Showcase 🔐💡

With engaging presentations from Dr Amit Singh, Dr Sangeet Saha and Professor Gareth Howells, the event also featured impressive demonstrations from Professor Klaus McDonald-Maie, Dr Xiaojun Zhai, Michal Borowski and Buduka Nchelem 👏

The University of Essex has announced an exciting new collaboration with researchers at Stanford Medicine, marking a major leap forward in digital education for students of all backgrounds and skill levels!🌍🚀

Led by CSEE Head of School, Professor Reinhold Scherer, this partnership will give Essex students direct access to world-leading learning in coding, data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) 💻🧠

As part of the collaboration, students will also gain hands-on experience with the Stanford Data Ocean platform, working with cutting-edge tools, real-world case studies, and expert sessions delivered by Dr Amir Bahmani and his team at the Stanford School of Medicine 👏✨

Essex Agri-Food Robotics wins UKRI AI & Robotics Research Award!

Join us in congratulating CSEE's Professor Klaus McDonald-Maier, Dr Vishwanathan Mohan, Daniel Eduardo Cedillo Hernandez , Jose Gutierrez Espinosa and Flavia Popescu-Richardson who won the 2026 UKRI Robotics & AI Best Research Project (Industry Collaboration) Award last week!

The award recognises their collaborative agri-food robotics work with Tiptree, JEPCO, and GyroPlant and follows a win last year in the Best Demonstration category!
