We're a society free/open to everyone with a hope of bringing together people interested in Sociology-- any fanatic level is welcome. The Sociology Society (or SocSoc) is not just a group of people who meet every once in a while and talk about Sociology. It’s for any University of Essex student who is interested in Sociology or wants to find out what it's all about. The society is fairly new (very

new in fact), but we’ve got big plans! We have regular socials throughout the year, ranging from nights out in the SU bar to movie nights. Of course, we will be doing ‘sociology’ sometimes (as the name suggests). We’ll be having discussion groups, talks and debates over the course of the year. If you want to get involved, just say so! We want your time at Essex to be some of the best days of your life, so we’re going to chuck some great opportunities at you and give you the chance to meet some great people and create some amazing memories.
