Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis The 57th Essex Summer School will run from Tuesday 9 July to Friday 16 August 2024

The Essex Summer School in Social Science Data Analysis provides world-leading social science methods training to postgraduate research students by offering instruction from an internationally renowned faculty, drawn from the world’s top research institutions. It seeks to foster the academic research and careers of the postgraduate students who attend, both through training and by offering unique networking experiences. In doing so, it contributes to the entirety of the international social science community. The summer school provides:

• An international reputation, over 50 years in the making
• Building skills for academic research
• Networking for PhD students
• An international staff of experienced instructors
• Intensive methods instruction

Irine attended the 2026 Essex Summer School with the support of the Vera E. Troeger Scholarship for Women in Political Methodology.

Over two weeks, she strengthened her causal inference skills AND had fun connecting with researchers from around the world.
