"My journey to the UK began in 2025, when I made the life-changing decision to pursue higher education abroad. While researching top-ranked universities, I came across Ulster University, and something about it immediately stood out to me, especially its industry focused teaching approach.

After months of preparation, I received my visa and accommodation at Dalriada Student Village, and travelled to Belfast carrying my dreams and my family’s hopes. My first day at Ulster was emotional and unforgettable - I had fulfilled one of my father’s biggest dreams.

Since starting my studies, I have experienced tremendous growth academically and personally, gained practical learning. I also worked as a student buddy, which allowed me to support and guide new students.

We were delighted to host the Belfast programme of the internationally acclaimed Jaipur Literature Festival at our Belfast campus, welcoming globally recognised writers, historians, thinkers and performers for three days of inspiring conversations, cultural exchange and creativity.

Supported by the Government of Ireland and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the programme featured international voices including Shashi Tharoor, William Dalrymple and Aanchal Malhotra, alongside former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Belfast-born author Lucy Caldwell, Irish-Indian playwright Ursula Rani Sarma and Dublin playwright and journalist Colin Murphy.

Events like this help to showcase Belfast and Northern Ireland as vibrant international destinations for culture, creativity and student experience.
