١)
مُحَمَّدٌ: اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَعِيدُ، كَيْفَ تَتَحَمَّلُ حَرَّ هٰذَا الصَّيْفِ فِي شَهْرِ غُشْتَ؟
(as-salāmu ʿalayka yā Saʿīdu, kayfa tataḥammalu ḥarra hādhā aṣ-ṣayfi fī shahri Ghušt?)
Mohamed: Peace be upon you, Saïd. How do you handle the heat of this August?
٢)
سَعِيدٌ: وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ، اَلْحَرَارَةُ شَدِيدَةٌ جِدًّا هٰذِهِ الأَيَّامِ، وَخُصُوصًا بِالنَّهَارِ.
(wa ʿalayka as-salām, al-ḥarāratu šadīdatan jiddan hādhihi al-ayyāmi, wa khuṣūṣan bi-n-nahāri.)
Saïd: And peace be upon you. The heat is very intense these days, especially during the day.
٣)
مُحَمَّدٌ: اَلسَّاعَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ ظُهْرًا تَكُونُ الدَّرَجَاتُ مُرْتَفِعَةً جِدًّا، وَهٰذَا خَطِرٌ عَلَى الصِّحَّةِ.
(as-sāʿatu ath-thāniyatu ẓuhran takūnu ad-darajātu murtafiʿatan jiddan, wa hādhā khaṭirun ʿalā aṣ-ṣiḥḥah.)
Mohamed: At two in the afternoon, the temperatures are very high, and this is dangerous for health.
٤)
سَعِيدٌ: نَعَمْ، خُصُوصًا لِكَبارِ السِّنِّ وَالْأَطْفَالِ، فَهُم أَكْثَرُ عُرْضَةً لِضَرْبَةِ الشَّمْسِ.
(naʿam, khuṣūṣan li-kibāri as-sinni wa-l-aṭfāli, fahum aktharu ʿurḍatan li-ḍarbati aš-šams.)
Saïd: Yes, especially for the elderly and children; they are more prone to sunstroke.
٥)
مُحَمَّدٌ: مِنَ الضَّرُورِيِّ أَنْ نَشْرَبَ الْمَاءَ بِانْتِظَامٍ وَنَتَجَنَّبَ التَّعَرُّضَ الْمُبَاشِرَ لِلشَّمْسِ.
(mina aḍ-ḍarūrī an našraba al-mā’a bintiẓāmin wa natajannaba at-taʿarruḍa al-mubāšira liš-šams.)
Mohamed: It is essential to drink water regularly and avoid direct exposure to the sun.
٦)
سَعِيدٌ: كَمَا يَجِبُ لُبْسُ مَلَابِسَ قُطْنِيَّةٍ فَاتِحَةِ اللَّوْنِ، فَهِيَ أَبْرَدُ وَأَرْيَحُ.
(kamā yajibu lubsu malābisa quṭniyyatin fātiḥati al-lawni, fahiya abradu wa aryaḥ.)
Saïd: We should also wear light-colored cotton clothes; they are cooler and more comfortable.
٧)
مُحَمَّدٌ: وَأَنَا أَسْتَعْمِلُ كَرِيمًا وَاقِيًا مِنَ الشَّمْسِ ذَاتَ مُعَامِلِ حِمَايَةٍ مُرْتَفِعٍ.
(wa anā astaʿmilu karīman wāqiyan mina aš-šamsi dhāta muʿāmili ḥimāyatin murtafiʿ.)
Mohamed: I also use sunscreen with a high protection factor.
٨)
سَعِيدٌ: هٰذَا مُهِمٌّ جِدًّا؛ يَحْمِي الْبَشَرَةَ مِنِ الْحُرُوقِ وَالتَّهَيُّجِ.
(hādhā muhimmun jiddan; yaḥmī al-bašarata mina al-ḥurūqi wa at-tahayyuji.)
Saïd: This is very important; it protects the skin from burns and irritation.
٩)
مُحَمَّدٌ: لَا نَنْسَى أَيْضًا الْبَقَاءَ فِي الظِّلِّ قَدْرَ الْإِمْكَانِ وَاسْتِعْمَالَ الْقُبَّعَةِ وَالنَّظَّارَاتِ.
(lā nansā ayḍan al-baqā’a fī aẓ-ẓilli qadra al-imkān wa istiʿmāla al-qubbaʿati wa an-naẓẓārāti.)
Mohamed: Let’s not forget to stay in the shade as much as possible and use a hat and sunglasses.
١٠)
سَعِيدٌ: وَمَتَى مَا أَحْسَسْنَا بِدُوخَةٍ أَوْ عَطَشٍ شَدِيدٍ، يَجِبُ أَنْ نَسْتَرِيحَ فَوْرًا وَنَشْرَبَ الْمَاءَ.
(wa matā mā aḥsassnā bidūkhatin aw ʿaṭašin šadīd, yajibu an nastarīḥa fawran wa našraba al-mā’a.)
Saïd: And whenever we feel dizzy or very thirsty, we should rest immediately and drink water.

مُحَمَّدٌ: أُفَضِّلُ أَيْضًا تَجْنِيبَ الْخُرُوجِ فِي أَوْقَاتِ الذِّرْوَةِ، وَتَخْطِيطَ الْأَعْمَالِ صَبَاحًا أَوْ مَسَاءً.
(ufaḍḍilu ayḍan tajnība al-khurūji fī awqāti adh-dhirwah, wa takhṭīṭa al-aʿmāli ṣabāḥan aw masā’an.)
Mohamed: I also prefer to avoid going out during peak hours and plan activities in the morning or evening.
١٢)
سَعِيدٌ: نَعَمْ، وَمَعَ هٰذِهِ النَّصَائِحِ نَقْضِي شَهْرَ غُشْتَ بِأَمَانٍ وَصِحَّةٍ.
(naʿam, wa maʿa hādhihi an-naṣā’iḥ naqḍī shahra Ghušt bi-amānin wa ṣiḥḥah.)
Saïd: Yes, with these tips, we can get through August safely and healthily.
