Cornerstone Research is a leading economic and financial consulting firm specializing in the analysis of complex economic, financial, accounting, and marketing issues that arise in the context of various kinds of litigation.

For example, we may be asked to predict the effect of a merger of two major high-tech firms on prices and innovation, to determine the effect of unfavourable drug test results on the stock price of a leading pharmaceutical company, or to value a patent on smartphone technology that might have been infringed.

Consultants from Cornerstone Research will be holding a presentation on economic consulting. You will have the chance to meet our consultants and follow-up with any questions regarding the case discussed. We will also be available to answer questions about pursuing a career in economic consulting.

As a Fresher Rep for EconSoc, you will join the exec of the largest academic society at Warwick as our representative to your cohort. You will play a key role in promoting and organising our events throughout the academic year.

In exciting news, Assumptions will be launching a summer collaborative project!

Inspired by the recent women’s rights protests, this project will be a deep dive into the female economy.

Women’s experiences in the working world have always been an important topic of conversation, and one that’s increasingly relevant to young professionals and students alike.

This project would be a series of short articles (between 400-800 words) published on a biweekly basis, through the summer holidays. Each contributor would be expected to write one article on a topic of their choosing, to do with women’s economic rights and market interests.

We want as many people to contribute as possible! Whether you would like to talk about women in the film industry, unpaid domestic labour or even the market for work heels - whatever it is, it has a place in the project!
