Paper Bird Productions, Anti/Type Films and Short Night Films, two award winning film production companies based in the West Midlands. Together, they have produced and directed many short films, documentaries and music videos, some of which have been exhibited nationwide and internationally.
Now in pre-production with two short films to be shot during September. We are looking to cast for several roles detailed below. These are no-budget productions and so there will be no fee, however we will be able to provide on-set catering, coverage of expenses, and copies of the final films.
Applicants must be West Midlands based or able to visit the West Midlands frequently for rehearsals and the shoots.
Auditions will be held on the 4th August, between 11am – 4pm, in Coventry.

Role for Short Film “SHUCK” directed by Ben Cook
FEMALE (playing age 30 – 35, all ethnicities considered) for LEAD ROLE.
Role details:
CARLY is a professional woman with a comfortable lifestyle. She is married but dealing with serious issues of loss and an escalating isolated situation.
Acting experience and dedication is needed for this large and challenging role, in order to maintain character and intensity of performance over a staggered shoot across several weekends. The actor will also need to maintain the same appearance over this extended shooting period.
Roles for Short Film “Private View” directed by Brian Harley
White MALE (playing age 24-30 max) for LEAD ROLE in monologue driven short film.
Role details:
JACOB is a Graduate Art Student, cordial, optimistic, prone to social awkwardness, sunny and reflective. Must have attractive/Everyman quality and be experienced and confident.
FEMALE (playing age 25 – 35, all ethnicities considered) for
SUPPORTING but CRITICAL ROLE in short film.
Role details:
HANNAH is an art gallery guest. She is somewhat mysterious and aloof, confident, funny, witty and graceful, with a vintage look. Must be attractive/natural beauty, slim.
