Haven’t signed up for today’s event with Rev. Prof. Keith Magee? We have the link for you!

In FIVE minutes we will be looking at democracy and government and the implications of an increasingly globalised and interconnected world - what does this mean in relation to class and poverty? Should we stop silo-thinking and all begin to see ourselves as global citizens?

If you would like to partake in an intellectually stimulating discussion with a former senior advisor to President Obama, not to mention the current senior advisor to President Biden - please tune in!

SPEAKER EVENT: Rev. Prof. Keith Magee, Wednesday 17th February, 5pm on Microsoft Teams on the Future of Global Democracy.

Sign up link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1qOsz_vIMgr2PlFcWXAgUpqAu9h2IMKpuIWI_fI2wrdU/edit

Rev. Prof. Keith Magee is a public intellectual who served as a senior advisor to President Obama and is currently serving as an advisor to the Biden-Harris administration on racial inequality. He is the director of The Social Justice Institute, a Senior Fellow in Culture and Justice at UCL and Professor and Chair of Social Justice at Newcastle University.

In an increasingly globalised and interconnected world, what will democracy and government come to mean and what will they look like in the future? How will they develop in relation to national economies and issues of class and poverty? Should we stop silo-thinking and all begin to truly see ourselves as global citizens? In this talk, Rev. Prof. Magee will examine these questions and move beyond the spaces of economics, heritage and culture in order to understand the political impact of our new interconnectedness. As a former and current senior advisor to two US presidential administrations, he will analyse these issues from the perspective of American democracy and foreign policy, as well as by looking at the current French and Chinese leaderships.
