Dr Mohammad Al-Amin joins IMechE council as fellow member 🎉

Congratulations to Dr Mohammad Al-Amin, PhD who been selected as a Fellow Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Council, serving until May 2027.

In this role, he will contribute to the strategic development of the IMechE and strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange between academia and industry; helping to enhance opportunities for students, academics and industry partners.

📍 In September Warwick Engineering students and staff attended , the UK's largest annual gathering of biomedical engineers.

Our students showcased their research through poster and oral presentations, including projects focused on spinal cord injury rowing technology, neurodegenerative disease assessment, and wearable seizure detection.

A huge congratulations to Tess Manson-Whitton, Thomas Lamb, James Moran, Rohan Firat, Dylan Puri, Koko Taylor-Takahashi, Ellen Nixon Antón and Sumeya Mohamed on representing Warwick and sharing their work with the wider biomedical engineering community. 👏

Congratulations to 4th year Civil Engineering student Jennifer Tofts who has been nominated for the 2026 Tony Strong Memorial Prize in Structural Engineering. 🏆🥇👏

Established this year by The Institution of Structural Engineers, the Tony Strong Memorial Prize recognises a student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in structural engineering, particularly in structural analysis, design and related subjects during the penultimate year of their degree programme.

This week, representatives from Warwick Engineering are attending the World Tetrahand Congress in Aylesbury.

Recent graduates Tess Manson-Whitton and James Moran are presenting findings from their fourth-year undergraduate group project, Further Development of Rowing Ergometry in Spinal Cord Injury, demonstrating the impact that undergraduate research can have beyond the University.
