Maintenance Labourer
SALARY & HOURS: 37.5 hours per week up to £20,500

Main duties and responsibilities include:

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance labourer to work within our maintenance team, carrying out routine, planned and preventative maintenance across the estate.

We are looking for a general all-rounder who has good attention to detail with a positive can-do attitude, enjoys working in a customer facing role, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service to our staff, students and guests.

Main duties are including but not limited to:

• Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
• Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
• Check functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm)
• Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.
• Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues

The ideal candidate would have a flexible approach to working hours and may be occasionally expected to work weekends dependant on organisation’s needs.

Person Specification:

Experience and Knowledge
• Strong working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other relevant legislation.
• Proven experience of working on their own or as part of a team.
• IT skills including the use of operational databases and spreadsheets
• Ability to write reports clearly, read technical plans and be an effective communicator.
• Ability to respond and prioritise workload to meet demands and needs of the job.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Full driving licence required to travel between sites with a significant number of tools and equipment.

Skills Desirable
• Practical multi-skilled experience of other maintenance/building trades.
• Experience of building services repair and maintenance work.
• Development of planned maintenance programmes.

Communication
• The ability to communicate information, orally and in writing, considering what to communicate and how best to convey the information
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• IT literacy – able to communicate via email and use of handheld device/tablet
• The ability to liaise with internal and external contacts proactively and reactively beyond the Campus to build relationships, disseminate information and co-ordinate activities in a timely and effective manner

IT Manager
SALARY & HOURS: 37.5 hours per week up to £35,000 dependant on experience.

The role

Working at a ratio of 50% helpdesk and 50% on site support, you will be supporting the staff and students of the Campus as our customers. You will need to learn our systems but also participate in improving ways of doing things - we have documentation to show you how to do most tasks but if it’s wrong, we want you to look at fixing it
You will be involved with the various service desk, desktop, telephone, remote and client-facing support, and you will be given many opportunities to get involved with a range of IT work and will be the first person our customers deal with; you are there to help and solve their IT problems either by yourself or by passing them on to the right person.

Candidates must have excellent customer service and quality management skills, with the passion, resources, and commercial insight to help achieve them.
You will work with a wide range of technologies as part of a friendly and dedicated team in a great environment.

Person Specification:

Experience and Knowledge
• Windows client operating systems
• Microsoft Office suite
• Remote and face-to-face support
• Android/Apple phones and tablets
• User management and password resetting

Plumbing & General Maintenance
SALARY & HOURS: 37.5 hours per week up to £27,000 dependant on experience.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

We are looking for an experienced and qualified NVQ level 2 Plumber with General Maintenance experience to join a small Maintenance team carrying out routine, planned and preventative maintenance across the estate.

We are looking for a general all-rounder who has good attention to detail with a positive can-do attitude, enjoys working in a customer facing role, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service to our staff, students and guests.

Main duties are including but not limited to:

• Carry out minor repairs such as furniture, equipment, plumbing repairs, including unblocking sinks, toilets and drains when necessary and minor repairs.

• Experience or knowledge in other trades/skillsets desirable including Heating, Electrical, Carpentry, Brickwork, Plastering, Tiling, Roofing and General Maintenance.

• General knowledge of Health and Safety legislation essential

The ideal candidate would have a flexible approach to working hours and be expected to take part in a 24hour call out rota and to also cover external events when required (for additional pay)

Person Specification:

• A recognised apprenticeship in mechanical and/or electrical services, (NVQ, City & Guilds Plumbing Specific) or qualified through proven significant practical experience in M&E services.
• Strong working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other relevant legislation.
• Proven operational experience in mechanical and or electrical service maintenance and installation works.
• Proven experience of building and services repair and maintenance work.
• Proven experience of working on their own or as part of a team.
• Experience of planned and preventative maintenance programmes.

• Ability to write reports clearly, read technical plans and be an effective communicator.
