1) "Life changing course. I've considered studying to be a counsellor for a while. A sudden job loss at just the right time meant I suddenly had the time to do it.

This course was recommended to me by someone who had studied under Sara and Sally at a different venue. It did not disappoint. Intense, hard work, emotional, brutal at times. But there's no repair without rupture. Digging deep was a regular occurrence.

I'll be honest, it's one of the toughest things I've done. But also one of the most rewarding. Sara, Sally and the rest of the tutors are amazing people. Kind, loving, encouraging. They helped me get over the finish line when there were several times I wanted to walk away.

It's also a laugh. There was a lot of laughter. I've made lifetime friends, learned so much about humans and myself, and two years after signing up, I am a qualified counsellor.

Job Specification

The Dunamis administrator will:
Be self-directing against a specific workload
Personable and approachable by students and staff
Be able to maintain appropriate confidentiality
Be computer literate, literate, and have some financial ability
Be flexible and have an understanding of counselling and the therapeutic ethos

The role will be:
To manage the administration needs of Dunamis Therapy Hub

The tasks of the administrator will include:
Maintenance of student assessment, details, records, essays, projects, examination results according to data protection requirements
To assist in administration of assessment of potential students
To assist tutors and students as appropriate with administration concerns
To maintain the college library and records of lent books and deal with any finances concerning the library
To write letters as necessary for the founders and director
To file all administration documents appropriately
To assist with the administration of exams
To assist in liaising with placements, BACP and other involved parties
To maintain course registers
To maintain course policies and procedures as appropriate, eg termly fire drills To invoice students and to check on payments as appropriate
To undertake any appropriate duties for the betterment of Dunamis

Starting April 2023 Dunamis Therapy Hub is offering a Diploma in Supervision. The aim of the course is for trained and qualified counsellors to develop knowledge and competencies in line with the BACP training curriculum, in order to practice as counselling supervisors. This course will enhance the skill set of professional counsellors and psychotherapists. It requires self-motivation and some self-directed study.

Improving communication with children. 🗣👧
Course date: Saturday 30th January 2021
This is a 1-day zoom taster session for early years teachers, teaching assistants and others that work with young children, where you will learn how to improve your communication with children (aged 0 - 8 years old).
