On July 28, 2020, the University of Wisconsin and the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust (BLHT) announced their joint agreement to end the University’s lease of Dalkeith Palace, owned and run by the Trust, and identify a new program location after January 2021. Students taking part in the University’s Experience Scotland program have called the Palace home, as well as using classrooms onsite and travelling to visit the art collections at Bowhill House and Drumlanrig Castle. Following discussions between the University and the Trust the program, which has been running since 1986, will take a short sabbatical while both institutions work together to find new premises for the program, either in or near Edinburgh. The Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust will remain fully involved with the Wisconsin Scotland Trust and wishes to expand the partnership to enrich and diversify the Experience Scotland program. Any questions can be directed to Kelsey McLean at [email protected] or Emma Pattison at [email protected].
