Putting their investigative scientific skills to the test 🔬

Each year, our Chemistry students take part in the Schools’ Analyst Competition challenge set by Northumbria University in partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry🧪

This year’s challenge saw students investigate a mysterious illness, using forensic, cosmetic and analytical science techniques to uncover whether foul play was involved🔍

With a limited amount of time to complete the investigation, our students demonstrated outstanding scientific knowledge, problem-solving abilities and teamwork throughout🌟

The standard of work produced was exceptional, and we are incredibly proud of the dedication and enthusiasm shown by everyone involved💡

A golden start to the QE Golfing season ⛳️

What a fantastic day for our QE golfers as they headed to their latest competition at Ramside Golf Club in Durham, and what a success it was!🌟

With the sun shining, the team got their golfing journey with QE off to an amazing start, and all students took on the course with confidence, determination and plenty of enthusiasm💯

The day finished with some amazing results:
• Ethan securing 2nd place overall with a total net score of 70
• Jack and Scarlette joint 30th overall, finishing +10 with a total net score of 82

It was a day filled with great golf, friendly competition and memorable experiences, marking a fantastic achievement for all three students and an excellent start to their golfing journey at QE⛳️

A special moment this morning as QE student Sam appeared on BBC Breakfast and was reunited with Nigel, whose life he helped save earlier this year✨

Using the first aid training he had received through Cadets; Sam played a key role in providing assistance to help save Nigel's life. As a member of our Combined Cadet Force here at QE, Sam's actions are a testament to the compassion, courage and community spirit we value at QE💜

Sam was also recently awarded the Young Citizen Award at our College Volunteering Awards, recognising his remarkable bravery and the positive impact he has made within our community

We are immensely proud of Sam. His bravery, quick thinking, and commitment to helping others demonstrate the very best of our college's community⭐

The future of medicine in the making✨🩺

Some of our aspiring medical students recently took part in a skills day at James Cook University Hospital, gaining a valuable insight into the world of medicine🔬

From interactive seminars to practical workshops led by local healthcare professionals, students developed key skills, explored career pathways, and experienced what life in the medical profession could look like🌟

They even appeared on BBC Look North yesterday evening, sharing reflections on an inspiring experience that has left them feeling even more confident, motivated and excited about pursuing careers in the medical profession 🩺

We can’t wait to see where their journey take them next 🚑💙
