Ten of our students completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition last week. 🥾

As part of this expedition they went for walks in Finningley, Thorne and local areas, and as well as completing the physical challenge, they improved their travel, shopping, cooking, camping and teamwork skills.

The students should be very proud of their achievement as we are proud of them!

A big thank you to all the staff that helped in so many ways.

Today, we held our first Student Voice meeting of the academic year with our newly elected Student Voice representatives.

Students were presented with their official Student Voice badges, which they can proudly wear on their lanyards to showcase their important role in representing the views and experiences of their peers. 🎖️

We also identified students who will lead on several key leadership areas throughout the year, with more to be identified:

Today, our students took part in voting for their Student Voice representatives.

Before heading to the polling stations, students watched video presentations from the candidates standing for election. In these videos, each student shared why they wanted to represent their pathway, helping voters make informed decisions about who they wished to support.

The experience also gave students valuable insight into how voting works in real-life government elections. To measure the impact of the session, students were asked questions both before and after voting, allowing us to see how their understanding of the voting process had developed.

A fantastic opportunity to promote student leadership, democracy, and active participation. We look forward to announcing the results! 👏
