Battle of the Somme Presentation

Clough’s Chosen Few JLOL 124 are delighted to host an evening with historian Quincey Dougan on Thursday 18th June at 7.30pm in Clough Orange Hall.

The presentation will explore the formation of the Ulster Volunteer Force, the creation of the 36th (Ulster) Division, and their role in the Battle of the Somme, one of the most significant chapters in our history.

This promises to be an informative and thought provoking evening, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Donations in support of Clough’s Chosen Few Junior Lodge would be greatly appreciated.

Well done to JLOL 124 member John Scott, who took part in this week’s Walk from Annalong to Kilkeel alongside the Kilkeel Cadets, helping to raise funds for the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland and the The Somme Association.

A fantastic effort in support of two very worthy causes while commemorating the 110th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme.

A tremendous day out with Clough’s Chosen Few JLOL 124 at the County Junior Demonstration in Donaghadee.

Accompanied throughout the day by Castlewellan District Juniors, Daughters of Bryansford JWLOL, Star of Down Flute Band and our friends from Mourne RSV, the boys represented Clough with pride and were a credit to their families and the lodge.

Congratulations to Daughters of Bryansford JWLOL on winning Best Visiting Junior Lodge, a well deserved achievement and recognition of the hard work being put in.

Preparations well under way for the County Junior Demonstration this Saturday in Donaghadee. 🇬🇧

The boys will be stepping out in style, parading Dundrum at 8:15am alongside Daughters of Bryansford JWLOL 54 and Castlewellan District JLOL No.2, accompanied by Star of Down FB. 🥁

We will then move to Clough for the usual route around the village, accompanied by TWO bands, Star of Down and our friends from Mourne Rising Sons of the Valley

Great to see the young people out enjoying themselves and keeping the tradition alive. Looking forward to a great day out.
