To celebrate ✨ World Poetry Day ✨, here's a poem by American poet William Carlos Williams:

- Flowers by the Sea -

When over the flowery, sharp pasture’s
edge, unseen, the salt ocean

lifts its form—chicory and daisies
tied, released, seem hardly flowers alone

but color and the movement—or the shape
perhaps—of restlessness, whereas

the sea is circled and sways
peacefully upon its plantlike stem

Maybe your love for film has developed into making them yourself! If so, check out Encounters - now accepting entries.

It's funny how F. Scott Fitzgerald managed to summise University in one sentence in 1925:

"I've been drunk for about a week now, and I thought it might sober me up to sit in a library."
- The Great Gatsby

Is this anyone else's experience? 😂

Something of a musical Cliff’s Notes (or, in this case, Heathcliff’s Notes) to Emily Bronte’s classic novel, Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights” is a love letter to the Gothic romance, hit No. 1 in Great Britain 40 years ago today.

Hunter S. Thompson died in Woody Creek, Colorado on this day in 2005 (aged 67).

"This is not a good town for psychedelic drugs. Reality itself is too twisted."
—from FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS: A Savage Journey into the Heart of the American Dream (1971)

This cult classic of gonzo journalism is the best chronicle of drug-soaked, addle-brained, rollicking good times ever committed to the printed page. It is also the tale of a long weekend road trip that has gone down in the annals of American pop culture as one of the strangest journeys ever undertaken.
