Happy International Women’s Day from DurHack💜

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women shaping technology today !

Despite progress, women still make up less than one third of the global STEM workforce, and in engineering and tech roles the numbers are often even lower. Yet, it has been proven time and time again that diverse teams consistently produce more innovative solutions and stronger ideas. This highlights the remaining importance of creating inclusive opportunities in Tech, with events such as DurHack🌟

At DurHack, we’re committed to creating a space where anyone can explore technology and innovation, regardless of gender, background and coding experience. Everyone is welcome!

As we recap highlights from DurHack X, we once again congratulate The Overall Winners of DurHack X !🏆

(Slide 1) - “Clap Collider”: Winners of The Legacy Luminary Award 🥇

Clap Collider gets people moving to create the music themselves. Through hand movements, users can loop drum beats, switch modes, and generate new melodies.

(Slide 2)- “Echo”: Winners of The Solar Spark Award 🥈

Echo reads a book or story, analyses the text page by page, and generates a structured description of the setting, weather, ambient sounds, and emotional tone.

(Slide 3)- “DataBridge”: Winners of The Spirit of the Hack Award 🥉

DataBridge is a command-line tool to visualise the flow of data through a computer system. The project focuses on exploring unusual and unexpected places where data can be stored within a machine, aiming to utilize the entire computer and bring all its components together.
