Nicolas for Durham Union President, Easter 2021

Charity Committee:

The new Charity Committee will put on fundraisers, outreach to those that most need our help and organise projects to work towards a greater good. It will bring solidarity and the common good at the very core of the Durham Union. It will be an open committee with ideas from all, to make a real impact in areas that matter to us. Welfare Officer position:

Inclusivity, wellbeing

and mental health are key priorities for the Union. To ensure that everyone feels welcome, I will create the position of Welfare Officer. With the intention to look into these serious issues in a personal way, with full attention and no judgement. Bringing an international perspective:

Inviting a greater range of speakers from all over the world. Whether virtually if Covid is still around or by inviting those that reside in the UK. As well as hosting debates in foreign languages and engaging in events with international societies. Socials
1) A summer garden party to celebrate the end of exams.

2) Virtual pub quiz nights to keep in touch with members if in isolation.

3) Social with the Oxford and Cambridge Unions, Covid permitting.
