What will you learn at the International Arbitration Summer Programme 2026?

🟣Durham Law School’s Summer Programme on International Arbitration guides participants from the fundamentals of arbitration through to the development of practical, practice‑ready skills.

Participants will:

🟡Gain a clear understanding of what international arbitration is, how proceedings are run, and what happens at each stage of the process.

💡Spotlight on Professor

Driving legal change to protect women and girls online.

🟣For over a decade, Professor Clare McGlynn has worked with politicians and advocates to reform legislation so women and girls can exist freely online with the same liberty and safety as men.

🟣Her research helped coin the term 'image‑based sexual abuse', which has transformed societal understandings of digital abuse, and has been incorporated into laws and policies globally.

🟣In recent months Clare has played a central role in shaping new laws to criminalise the creation of non-consensual sexual deepfake images.
She has been at the forefront of public debate following the misuse of AI chatbot Grok to digitally undress women and children.

⏩In 2026 Clare will also publish a new book entitled 'Exposed'. It examines the hidden dangers of online po*******hy where extreme content is available on mainstream sites and how this normalises violence against women.

🟣Professor Clare McGlynn's work is driving real legal and cultural change, creating safer digital spaces for all.

🟣This year’s ranking marks a significant achievement for the School, rising eight places from 2025 to reach joint 49th worldwide. This achievement reflects the continued growth of our global research reputation and the strong recognition we receive from employers.

🟣The QS World University Rankings by Subject are among the most prestigious global rankings, assessing universities using indicators including academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations and international research collaboration.

🟣The 2026 rankings analysed more than 6,200 institutions worldwide, with 1,900 universities ranked across 55 subjects, producing over 21,000 individual ranking entries.
